Gau is a Sudanese refugee who lived in Egypt before coming to America. He tells the story about learning to accept himself and finding ways to connect with those around him who are different than he is. He believes that stereotypes do everyone a disservice. His journey to leadership began when he was given an opportunity to attend a conference that helped him understand only "you are the best at being you".
